Nicholson re-joined the Stags in September 2016, after a short spell with Ryman Premier club Kingstonian. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder first featured for the club in November 2015, and went on to become a first team regular for the remainder of the season. He joined the K’s after a successful pre-season, but returned to Anthony Gale’s side after just three appearances.

Making 26 appearances in his inaugural season with the Casuals, Nicholson scored his first goal for the club with a 25-yard free-kick to complete a 5-3 win over Sittingbourne – the third of his senior career.

After featuring for the West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur youth teams, he made his professional debut for Spurs in the Europa League in August 2011. Also featuring for Finnish outfit MYPA on loan that year, he joined Greenock Morton following his release in 2013.

He returned to English football in 2014 joining League Two side AFC Wimbledon, and ventured into non-league football in January 2015 with spells with St. Albans City and Hayes & Yeading United.
