Stags sign Jim Fenlon

Walton Casuals are delighted to announce the signing of former Football League defender Jim Fenlon from Leatherhead.

The 22-year-old former AFC Wimbledon full-back has also represented Ross County and Hayes & Yeading United, and displayed his versatility on both flanks throughout his career.

After six years of youth football in Australia, Fenlon joined AFC Wimbledon U16s and was rewarded with a professional contract in May 2012. He went on to make 41 first-team appearances during the Dons’ time in League Two.

Following a brief stint with Scottish Premiership side Ross County in 2014, he joined Conference South side Hayes & Yeading and made 42 appearances across three seasons. Shortly after their relegation to the Southern League Premier Division this year, he joined Surrey-based Leatherhead.

Making his debut against Walton Casuals in our Alan Turvey Trophy exit back in September, he totalled 14 appearances under Richard Brady and Jimmy Bullard before his switch to Church Road.

Fenlon made his debut in the Stags’ 1-0 victory over Carshalton Athletic on New Year’s Eve.
